Do you insure electric bikes?

Yes, Bikmo insures electric bikes and offers a 25% discount on their premium compared to non-e-bikes (excluding where a 50% multi-bike discount is already applied). However, the e-bike must meet the requirements of the Road Traffic Act, such as having a maximum power output of 250 watts, being pedal-assisted, and restricted to 15.5mph or 25 km/h.

What lock ratings do you require?

Bikmo applies the Sold Secure lock rating system to their policy requirements. Bronze-rated locks are required for bikes up to £250, Silver for £251 – £1500, and Gold for over £1500. If the Sold Secure approved U-lock comes with an additional wire cable, the cable is not included in the approved rating.

Can I insure my bike regardless of age or upgrades?

Yes, you can insure your bike irrespective of age, brand, model, upgrades, or whether you are the original owner. You need to decide on a value against which to insure, and that's the value you'll pay your premium on.

Do you cover bikes while in transit?

Yes, all Bikmo bike insurance policies cover your bikes while in transit when you travel with them by train, boat, or plane. However, you'll need a GO or PLUS policy to cover accidental damage in transit.
